This seminar wwas very interesting and touching to me. I was informed about the many sit-ins that young people, young African American people my age started They made a difference and tried their hardest to do things to show that they had as much right as the next race. That touched me because it showed me the amount of difference I can be trying to make and actually making even though I am only a 18 year old college student. I can get the equality in this world that my ancestors wanted. Not only were the younger generation trying to make a difference, but the older generation was too. They were tired of being treated like they were. Dr. Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Joann Robinson, Sekou Toure and the list goes on and on showing that you are never too old to be trying to save the nation. If your heart is into doing something serious then it is possible to do what you want no matter how old or how young you are. Some of these great people were leaders. That means that we havethe potential to do big things. There were many black idols and people still look up to them to this day. There were many great black singers. They are to me bigger than the other races taht had to come up because they had to struggle. The people that had to struggle mean alot more to me because it was something that they appreciate. James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Sun Ra, and Stevie Wonders are just a few people that are great people that matter to the world. They have had to go through so many obstacles and that is what made them great. Hip-hop has gotten great also. Now we have had the chance to have a black president and that has shown us that we can do what we put our mind to.
